The Bridge

Australia…

The beautiful island that sits to our West – I love it, always have.  So I’m going to Kuranda – a little bohemian town north of Cairns…

He said…

Do you know where you are? You’re in the rain forest – there’s loads of snakes around here mate! Plenty of the little critters – just watch where you’re walking aye, or you might tread on one.  But don’t worry, they’re more scared of us than we are of them so you’re all good…

Welcome to tropical North Queensland – the land of snakes, crocodiles, humid weather, jellyfish and beaches you can’t swim at… this is the tropics – the place where all fear is highlighted and there’s snakes frkn everywhere – right!? Wrong!

Never saw a one – not even in the sugar plantations, on the side of the road, at the beach or in the rain forest – never – until Kuranda that is.

So I’m just minding my own business you know, walking up to the glass tanks outside the venom zoo to see what’s inside.  Phobia or not, I’m gonna have a squizz anyway see what’s lurking in there – fascinating sure, frightening – definitely!  When out from the shadows walks a guy – some random guy – out of nowhere – with a fkn 10 foot long snake wrapped around his shoulders…  some kind of python I think and it’s moving…

If you ever thought it was impossible to scream, laugh, cry, hyperventilate and run across the road in front of a car all at the same time – I can only say it’s possible – that’s true…  Guess he just caught me off guard – but then again, I was standing outside the venom zoo – so you know – go figure… lol

It’s all Water under the bridge in my book.

We live and learn…
